Understaffed, underfunded, lack of beds, Lib govt, Lab govt same same. Sick enough to require going to the hospital. Definitely unwell as I required a bed and surgery. The extended waiting lists meant that required surgery would be after a lengthy period on the waiting list. I was advised by the informative and very professional Doctor that the condition I was experiencing would result in me coming back to the hospital for many admissions before I would have surgery. After 4 days and no end in sight to the admission, I was transferred to the private hospital next door. Surgery and discharge in 3 days (less time than I was in the Royal). Royal Hobart Hospital Medical staff 10/10 Emergency Department Nursing staff 10/10 EMU ward Nurses 3/10, answer bells please, if I can't walk out to tell you I need help, then waiting for 30mins (I watched the clock) for a nurse to answer the bell is ridiculous. I shouldn't have to ask the cleaner to get me a nurse.
